Al-Waqia [The event,The inevitable ]
| | 56:1 | إِذَا وَقَعَتِ الْوَاقِعَةُ
| | | Itha waqaAAati alwaqiAAatu
| | When the Event inevitable cometh to pass
|
| | 56:2 | لَيْسَ لِوَقْعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ
| | | Laysa liwaqAAatiha kathibatun
| | Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming
|
| | 56:3 | خَافِضَةٌ رَافِعَةٌ
| | | Khafidatun rafiAAatun
| | (Many) will it bring low; (many) will it exalt
|
| | 56:4 | إِذَا رُجَّتِ الأرْضُ رَجًّا
| | | Itha rujjati al-ardu rajjan
| | When the earth shall be shaken to its depths
|
| | 56:5 | وَبُسَّتِ الْجِبَالُ بَسًّا
| | | Wabussati aljibalu bassan
| | And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms
|
| | 56:6 | فَكَانَتْ هَبَاءً مُنْبَثًّا
| | | Fakanat habaan munbaththan
| | Becoming dust scattered abroad
|
| | 56:7 | وَكُنْتُمْ أَزْوَاجًا ثَلاثَةً
| | | Wakuntum azwajan thalathatan
| | And ye shall be sorted out into three classes
|
| | 56:8 | فَأَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَيْمَنَةِ
| | | Faas-habu almaymanati ma as-habu almaymanati
| | Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand
|
| | 56:9 | وَأَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْمَشْأَمَةِ
| | | Waas-habu almash-amati ma as-habu almash-amati
| | And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand
|
| | 56:10 | وَالسَّابِقُونَ السَّابِقُونَ
| | | Waalssabiqoona alssabiqoona
| | And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter)
|
| | 56:11 | أُولَئِكَ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ
| | | Ola-ika almuqarraboona
| | These will be those Nearest to Allah
|
| | 56:12 | فِي جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ
| | | Fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
| | In Gardens of Bliss
|
| | 56:13 | ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الأوَّلِينَ
| | | Thullatun mina al-awwaleena
| | A number of people from those of old
|
| | 56:14 | وَقَلِيلٌ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ
| | | Waqaleelun mina al-akhireena
| | And a few from those of later times
|
| | 56:15 | عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَوْضُونَةٍ
| | | AAala sururin mawdoonatin
| | (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones)
|
| | 56:16 | مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ
| | | Muttaki-eena AAalayha mutaqabileena
| | Reclining on them, facing each other
|
| | 56:17 | يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُخَلَّدُونَ
| | | Yatoofu AAalayhim wildanun mukhalladoona
| | Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness)
|
| | 56:18 | بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِنْ مَعِينٍ
| | | Bi-akwabin waabareeqa waka/sin min maAAeenin
| | With goblets, (shining) beakers, and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains
|
| | 56:19 | لا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنْهَا وَلا يُنْزِفُونَ
| | | La yusaddaAAoona AAanha wala yunzifoona
| | No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication
|
| | 56:20 | وَفَاكِهَةٍ مِمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ
| | | Wafakihatin mimma yatakhayyaroona
| | And with fruits, any that they may select
|
| | 56:21 | وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
| | | Walahmi tayrin mimma yashtahoona
| | And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire
|
| | 56:22 | وَحُورٌ عِينٌ
| | | Wahoorun AAeenun
| | And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,
|
| | 56:23 | كَأَمْثَالِ اللُّؤْلُؤِ الْمَكْنُونِ
| | | Kaamthali allu/lui almaknooni
| | Like unto Pearls well-guarded
|
| | 56:24 | جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
| | | Jazaan bima kanoo yaAAmaloona
| | A Reward for the deeds of their past (life)
|
| | 56:25 | لا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلا تَأْثِيمًا
| | | La yasmaAAoona feeha laghwan wala ta/theeman
| | Not frivolity will they hear therein, nor any taint of ill,
|
| | 56:26 | إِلا قِيلا سَلامًا سَلامًا
| | | Illa qeelan salaman salaman
| | Only the saying, "Peace! Peace"
|
| | 56:27 | وَأَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الْيَمِينِ
| | | Waas-habu alyameeni ma as-habu alyameeni
| | The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand
|
| | 56:28 | فِي سِدْرٍ مَخْضُودٍ
| | | Fee sidrin makhdoodin
| | (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns
|
| | 56:29 | وَطَلْحٍ مَنْضُودٍ
| | | Watalhin mandoodin
| | Among tall trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above another,
|
| | 56:30 | وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ
| | | Wathillin mamdoodin
| | In shade long-extended
|
| | 56:31 | وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ
| | | Wama-in maskoobin
| | By water flowing constantly
|
| | 56:32 | وَفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ
| | | Wafakihatin katheeratin
| | And fruit in abundance
|
| | 56:33 | لا مَقْطُوعَةٍ وَلا مَمْنُوعَةٍ
| | | La maqtooAAatin wala mamnooAAatin
| | Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden
|
| | 56:34 | وَفُرُشٍ مَرْفُوعَةٍ
| | | Wafurushin marfooAAatin
| | And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high
|
| | 56:35 | إِنَّا أَنْشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنْشَاءً
| | | Inna ansha/nahunna inshaan
| | We have created (their Companions) of special creation
|
| | 56:36 | فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا
| | | FajaAAalnahunna abkaran
| | And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled),
|
| | 56:37 | عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا
| | | AAuruban atraban
| | Beloved (by nature), equal in age,
|
| | 56:38 | لأصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
| | | Li-as-habi alyameeni
| | For the Companions of the Right Hand
|
| | 56:39 | ثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الأوَّلِينَ
| | | Thullatun mina al-awwaleena
| | A (goodly) number from those of old
|
| | 56:40 | وَثُلَّةٌ مِنَ الآخِرِينَ
| | | Wathullatun mina al-akhireena
| | And a (goodly) number from those of later times
|
| | 56:41 | وَأَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ مَا أَصْحَابُ الشِّمَالِ
| | | Waas-habu alshshimali ma as-habu alshshimali
| | The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand
|
| | 56:42 | فِي سَمُومٍ وَحَمِيمٍ
| | | Fee samoomin wahameemin
| | (They will be) in the midst of a Fierce Blast of Fire and in Boiling Water
|
| | 56:43 | وَظِلٍّ مِنْ يَحْمُومٍ
| | | Wathillin min yahmoomin
| | And in the shades of Black Smoke
|
| | 56:44 | لا بَارِدٍ وَلا كَرِيمٍ
| | | La baridin wala kareemin
| | Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please
|
| | 56:45 | إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
| | | Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena
| | For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury)
|
| | 56:46 | وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنْثِ الْعَظِيمِ
| | | Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi
| | And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme
|
| | 56:47 | وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
| | | Wakanoo yaqooloona a-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman a-inna lamabAAoothoona
| | And they used to say, "What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?
|
| | 56:48 | أَوَآبَاؤُنَا الأوَّلُونَ
| | | Awa abaona al-awwaloona
| | "(We) and our fathers of old?"
|
| | 56:49 | قُلْ إِنَّ الأوَّلِينَ وَالآخِرِينَ
| | | Qul inna al-awwaleena waal-akhireena
| | Say: "Yea, those of old and those of later times
|
| | 56:50 | لَمَجْمُوعُونَ إِلَى مِيقَاتِ يَوْمٍ مَعْلُومٍ
| | | LamajmooAAoona ila meeqati yawmin maAAloomin
| | "All will certainly be gathered together for the meeting appointed for a Day well-known
|
| | 56:51 | ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ أَيُّهَا الضَّالُّونَ الْمُكَذِّبُونَ
| | | Thumma innakum ayyuha alddalloona almukaththiboona
| | "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!
|
| | 56:52 | لآكِلُونَ مِنْ شَجَرٍ مِنْ زَقُّومٍ
| | | Laakiloona min shajarin min zaqqoomin
| | "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum
|
| | 56:53 | فَمَالِئُونَ مِنْهَا الْبُطُونَ
| | | Famali-oona minha albutoona
| | "Then will ye fill your insides therewith
|
| | 56:54 | فَشَارِبُونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ
| | | Fashariboona AAalayhi mina alhameemi
| | "And drink Boiling Water on top of it
|
| | 56:55 | فَشَارِبُونَ شُرْبَ الْهِيمِ
| | | Fashariboona shurba alheemi
| | "Indeed ye shall drink like diseased camels raging with thirst!"
|
| | 56:56 | هَذَا نُزُلُهُمْ يَوْمَ الدِّينِ
| | | Hatha nuzuluhum yawma alddeeni
| | Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital
|
| | 56:57 | نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ فَلَوْلا تُصَدِّقُونَ
| | | Nahnu khalaqnakum falawla tusaddiqoona
| | It is We Who have created you: why will ye not witness the Truth
|
| | 56:58 | أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تُمْنُونَ
| | | Afaraaytum ma tumnoona
| | Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,
|
| | 56:59 | أَأَنْتُمْ تَخْلُقُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْخَالِقُونَ
| | | Aantum takhluqoonahu am nahnu alkhaliqoona
| | Is it ye who create it, or are We the Creators
|
| | 56:60 | نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ
| | | Nahnu qaddarna baynakumu almawta wama nahnu bimasbooqeena
| | We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrate
|
| | 56:61 | عَلَى أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنْشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لا تَعْلَمُونَ
| | | AAala an nubaddila amthalakum wanunshi-akum fee ma la taAAlamoona
| | from changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (forms) that ye know not
|
| | 56:62 | وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الأولَى فَلَوْلا تَذَكَّرُونَ
| | | Walaqad AAalimtumu alnnash-ata al-oola falawla tathakkaroona
| | And ye certainly know already the first form of creation: why then do ye not celebrate His praises
|
| | 56:63 | أَفَرَأَيْتُمْ مَا تَحْرُثُونَ
| | | Afaraaytum ma tahruthoona
| | See ye the seed that ye sow in the ground
|
| | 56:64 | أَأَنْتُمْ تَزْرَعُونَهُ أَمْ نَحْنُ الزَّارِعُونَ
| | | Aantum tazraAAoonahu am nahnu alzzariAAoona
| | Is it ye that cause it to grow, or are We the Cause
|
| | 56:65 | لَوْ نَشَاءُ لَجَعَلْنَاهُ حُطَامًا فَظَلْتُمْ تَفَكَّهُونَ
| | | Law nashao lajaAAalnahu hutaman fathaltum tafakkahoona
| | Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry powder, and ye would be left in wonderment
|
| | 56:66 | إِنَّا لَمُغْرَمُونَ
| | | Inna lamughramoona
| | (Saying), "We are indeed left with debts (for nothing)
|
| | 56:67 | بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
| | | Bal nahnu mahroomoona
| | "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)"
|
| | 56:68 | أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ الْمَاءَ الَّذِي تَشْرَبُونَ
| | | Afaraaytumu almaa allathee tashraboona
| | See ye the water which ye drink
|
| | 56:69 | أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْزَلْتُمُوهُ مِنَ الْمُزْنِ أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْزِلُونَ
| | | Aantum anzaltumoohu mina almuzni am nahnu almunziloona
| | Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We
|
| | 56:70 | لَوْ نَشَاءُ جَعَلْنَاهُ أُجَاجًا فَلَوْلا تَشْكُرُونَ
| | | Law nashao jaAAalnahu ojajan falawla tashkuroona
| | Were it Our Will, We could make it salt (and unpalatable): then why do ye not give thanks
|
| | 56:71 | أَفَرَأَيْتُمُ النَّارَ الَّتِي تُورُونَ
| | | Afaraaytumu alnnara allatee tooroona
| | See ye the Fire which ye kindle
|
| | 56:72 | أَأَنْتُمْ أَنْشَأْتُمْ شَجَرَتَهَا أَمْ نَحْنُ الْمُنْشِئُونَ
| | | Aantum ansha/tum shajarataha am nahnu almunshi-oona
| | Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it
|
| | 56:73 | نَحْنُ جَعَلْنَاهَا تَذْكِرَةً وَمَتَاعًا لِلْمُقْوِينَ
| | | Nahnu jaAAalnaha tathkiratan wamataAAan lilmuqweena
| | We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts
|
| | 56:74 | فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
| | | Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
| | Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme
|
| | 56:75 | فَلا أُقْسِمُ بِمَوَاقِعِ النُّجُومِ
| | | Fala oqsimu bimawaqiAAi alnnujoomi
| | Furthermore I call to witness the setting of the Stars,
|
| | 56:76 | وَإِنَّهُ لَقَسَمٌ لَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ
| | | Wa-innahu laqasamun law taAAlamoona AAatheemun
| | And that is indeed a mighty adjuration if ye but knew,
|
| | 56:77 | إِنَّهُ لَقُرْآنٌ كَرِيمٌ
| | | Innahu laqur-anun kareemun
| | That this is indeed a qur'an Most Honourable
|
| | 56:78 | فِي كِتَابٍ مَكْنُونٍ
| | | Fee kitabin maknoonin
| | In Book well-guarded
|
| | 56:79 | لا يَمَسُّهُ إِلا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ
| | | La yamassuhu illa almutahharoona
| | Which none shall touch but those who are clean
|
| | 56:80 | تَنْزِيلٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
| | | Tanzeelun min rabbi alAAalameena
| | A Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds
|
| | 56:81 | أَفَبِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَنْتُمْ مُدْهِنُونَ
| | | Afabihatha alhadeethi antum mudhinoona
| | Is it such a Message that ye would hold in light esteem
|
| | 56:82 | وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ
| | | WatajAAaloona rizqakum annakum tukaththiboona
| | And have ye made it your livelihood that ye should declare it false
|
| | 56:83 | فَلَوْلا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ
| | | Falawla itha balaghati alhulqooma
| | Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,
|
| | 56:84 | وَأَنْتُمْ حِينَئِذٍ تَنْظُرُونَ
| | | Waantum heena-ithin tanthuroona
| | And ye the while (sit) looking on,
|
| | 56:85 | وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْكُمْ وَلَكِنْ لا تُبْصِرُونَ
| | | Wanahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum walakin la tubsiroona
| | But We are nearer to him than ye, and yet see not,
|
| | 56:86 | فَلَوْلا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ غَيْرَ مَدِينِينَ
| | | Falawla in kuntum ghayra madeeneena
| | Then why do ye not,- If you are exempt from (future) account,
|
| | 56:87 | تَرْجِعُونَهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
| | | TarjiAAoonaha in kuntum sadiqeena
| | Call back the soul, if ye are true (in the claim of independence)
|
| | 56:88 | فَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
| | | Faamma in kana mina almuqarrabeena
| | Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah
|
| | 56:89 | فَرَوْحٌ وَرَيْحَانٌ وَجَنَّةُ نَعِيمٍ
| | | Farawhun warayhanun wajannatu naAAeemin
| | (There is for him) Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights
|
| | 56:90 | وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
| | | Waamma in kana min as-habi alyameeni
| | And if he be of the Companions of the Right Hand
|
| | 56:91 | فَسَلامٌ لَكَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الْيَمِينِ
| | | Fasalamun laka min as-habi alyameeni
| | (For him is the salutation), "Peace be unto thee", from the Companions of the Right Hand
|
| | 56:92 | وَأَمَّا إِنْ كَانَ مِنَ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ الضَّالِّينَ
| | | Waamma in kana mina almukaththibeena alddalleena
| | And if he be of those who treat (Truth) as Falsehood, who go wrong
|
| | 56:93 | فَنُزُلٌ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ
| | | Fanuzulun min hameemin
| | For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water
|
| | 56:94 | وَتَصْلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ
| | | Watasliyatu jaheemin
| | And burning in Hell-Fire
|
| | 56:95 | إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ الْيَقِينِ
| | | Inna hatha lahuwa haqqu alyaqeeni
| | Verily, this is the Very Truth and Certainly
|
| | 56:96 | فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْعَظِيمِ
| | | Fasabbih biismi rabbika alAAatheemi
| | So celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme
|
