Al-Qiyama [The rising of the dead ]
| | 75:1 | لا أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
| | | La oqsimu biyawmi alqiyamati
| | I do call to witness the Resurrection Day;
|
| | 75:2 | وَلا أُقْسِمُ بِالنَّفْسِ اللَّوَّامَةِ
| | | Wala oqsimu bialnnafsi allawwamati
| | And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil).
|
| | 75:3 | أَيَحْسَبُ الإنْسَانُ أَلَّنْ نَجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُ
| | | Ayahsabu al-insanu allan najmaAAa AAithamahu
| | Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones?
|
| | 75:4 | بَلَى قَادِرِينَ عَلَى أَنْ نُسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُ
| | | Bala qadireena AAala an nusawwiya bananahu
| | Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers.
|
| | 75:5 | بَلْ يُرِيدُ الإنْسَانُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُ
| | | Bal yureedu al-insanu liyafjura amamahu
| | But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him.
|
| | 75:6 | يَسْأَلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ
| | | Yas-alu ayyana yawmu alqiyamati
| | He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?"
|
| | 75:7 | فَإِذَا بَرِقَ الْبَصَرُ
| | | Fa-itha bariqa albasaru
| | At length, when the sight is dazed,
|
| | 75:8 | وَخَسَفَ الْقَمَرُ
| | | Wakhasafa alqamaru
| | And the moon is buried in darkness.
|
| | 75:9 | وَجُمِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ
| | | WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaru
| | And the sun and moon are joined together,-
|
| | 75:10 | يَقُولُ الإنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ الْمَفَرُّ
| | | Yaqoolu al-insanu yawma-ithin ayna almafarru
| | That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?"
|
| | 75:11 | كَلا لا وَزَرَ
| | | Kalla la wazara
| | By no means! No place of safety!
|
| | 75:12 | إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمُسْتَقَرُّ
| | | Ila rabbika yawma-ithin almustaqarru
| | Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest.
|
| | 75:13 | يُنَبَّأُ الإنْسَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
| | | Yunabbao al-insanu yawma-ithin bima qaddama waakhkhara
| | That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back.
|
| | 75:14 | بَلِ الإنْسَانُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بَصِيرَةٌ
| | | Bali al-insanu AAala nafsihi baseeratun
| | Nay, man will be evidence against himself,
|
| | 75:15 | وَلَوْ أَلْقَى مَعَاذِيرَهُ
| | | Walaw alqa maAAatheerahu
| | Even though he were to put up his excuses.
|
| | 75:16 | لا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِ
| | | La tuharrik bihi lisanaka litaAAjala bihi
| | Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith.
|
| | 75:17 | إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُ وَقُرْآنَهُ
| | | Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waqur-anahu
| | It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it:
|
| | 75:18 | فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَاهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْآنَهُ
| | | Fa-itha qara/nahu faittabiAA qur-anahu
| | But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated):
|
| | 75:19 | ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُ
| | | Thumma inna AAalayna bayanahu
| | Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear):
|
| | 75:20 | كَلا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ
| | | Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajilata
| | Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life,
|
| | 75:21 | وَتَذَرُونَ الآخِرَةَ
| | | Watatharoona al-akhirata
| | And leave alone the Hereafter.
|
| | 75:22 | وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاضِرَةٌ
| | | Wujoohun yawma-ithin nadiratun
| | Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);-
|
| | 75:23 | إِلَى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ
| | | Ila rabbiha nathiratun
| | Looking towards their Lord;
|
| | 75:24 | وَوُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ بَاسِرَةٌ
| | | Wawujoohun yawma-ithin basiratun
| | And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal,
|
| | 75:25 | تَظُنُّ أَنْ يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌ
| | | Tathunnu an yufAAala biha faqiratun
| | In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them;
|
| | 75:26 | كَلا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِيَ
| | | Kalla itha balaghati alttaraqiya
| | Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit),
|
| | 75:27 | وَقِيلَ مَنْ رَاقٍ
| | | Waqeela man raqin
| | And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?"
|
| | 75:28 | وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ الْفِرَاقُ
| | | Wathanna annahu alfiraqu
| | And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting;
|
| | 75:29 | وَالْتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ
| | | Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqi
| | And one leg will be joined with another:
|
| | 75:30 | إِلَى رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْمَسَاقُ
| | | Ila rabbika yawma-ithin almasaqu
| | That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord!
|
| | 75:31 | فَلا صَدَّقَ وَلا صَلَّى
| | | Fala saddaqa wala salla
| | So he gave nothing in charity, nor did he pray!-
|
| | 75:32 | وَلَكِنْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى
| | | Walakin kaththaba watawalla
| | But on the contrary, he rejected Truth and turned away!
|
| | 75:33 | ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ يَتَمَطَّى
| | | Thumma thahaba ila ahlihi yatamatta
| | Then did he stalk to his family in full conceit!
|
| | 75:34 | أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى
| | | Awla laka faawla
| | Woe to thee, (O men!), yea, woe!
|
| | 75:35 | ثُمَّ أَوْلَى لَكَ فَأَوْلَى
| | | Thumma awla laka faawla
| | Again, Woe to thee, (O men!), yea, woe!
|
| | 75:36 | أَيَحْسَبُ الإنْسَانُ أَنْ يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
| | | Ayahsabu al-insanu an yutraka sudan
| | Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)?
|
| | 75:37 | أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةً مِنْ مَنِيٍّ يُمْنَى
| | | Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumna
| | Was he not a drop of sperm emitted (in lowly form)?
|
| | 75:38 | ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
| | | Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwa
| | Then did he become a leech-like clot; then did (Allah) make and fashion (him) in due proportion.
|
| | 75:39 | فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالأنْثَى
| | | FajaAAala minhu alzzawjayni alththakara waal-ontha
| | And of him He made two sexes, male and female.
|
| | 75:40 | أَلَيْسَ ذَلِكَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى
| | | Alaysa thalika biqadirin AAala an yuhyiya almawta
| | Has not He, (the same), the power to give life to the dead?
